The Greatest Film Ever Made?

My favourite film ever made is its A Wonderful Life

Why?

It’s got the lot, love romance and it shows how we each and every one of us make a difference in the world.

All of those things we do and don’t really think too much about effect other people and it’s a powerful legacy we all leave behind us.

I like this film as it shows us how one man who is forever helping others and doing the right thing sacrificing his own ambitions makes a huge positive contribution to others.

When things go wrong he doubts if he has ever done anything worthwhile, even doubting his own faith.

It takes an angel and if you don’t know every time a bell rings and angel gets its wings, to demonstrate how life would have been without his actions.

Frank Capra the director and producer excelled himself with this production and the scene when James Stewart is sitting at the bar totally depressed is a classic when the camera zooms in.

Why a classic?

Because zoom lenses had not been invented at that time.

So to get the zoom effect they sat up one night taking one frame at a time to get the result.

Lionel Barrymore gives a performance of a man you just love to hate and you also get a chance to see one of Hollywood’s natural beauties, Donna Reed who shows us a natural look which is captivating.

So why not get your own copy of this brilliant production and any time you feel you need a lift just sit down with someone you care about and watch.
